1. How do I find the "Data Size" for each user?

For Windows users, you can right-click on the user's primary data folder (usually found in C:\Users\Username) and select Properties. The "Size on disk" will give you the total amount of data. For cloud services like Microsoft 365 or Google Drive, this information is typically available in the user's storage settings or the administrative dashboard. If you are unsure, providing an estimate is acceptable, and our team will verify the exact size during the initial discovery phase.

2. What is the difference between "Edit" and "Add" permissions?

While they may seem similar, they serve different security functions. Add permissions allow a user to create entirely new files or folders within a directory. Edit permissions allow a user to open, modify, and save changes to existing files. In most professional environments, users who need to work on documents will require both. If a user should only be able to read files without making any changes, they should be marked as "Read-Only" in the notes section.

3. Why do you need a screenshot of our folder structure?

A screenshot provides a visual "map" of how your business organizes its information. While we can see the data technically, the screenshot helps us understand the logical relationship between your folders (e.g., which sub-folders belong under "Finance" vs. "Operations"). This ensures that when we move the data, your team finds everything exactly where they expect it to be, minimizing downtime and confusion after the migration.

4. Should I include shared company folders in the "Username" list?

The table is primarily for individual user data (like desktop files and personal documents). For shared company folders (e.g., a "Public" or "Shared" drive), please list these on a separate line or in the notes section. For these shared areas, it is helpful to specify which groups of users (e.g., "All Staff" or "Management Only") should have access, rather than listing every individual name.

5. What happens if I miss a user or a folder in this list?
